About Belvedere Fresh

Welcome to Belvedere Fresh, an urban farming and aquaponics initiative rooted right in the heart of Belvedere Park, Georgia. Founded under The Fresh Collective, our mission is built on a simple yet powerful conviction: fresh, high-quality, and nutritious food should be accessible to everyone, not just a privileged few.

Our Belief: Fresh Food for Everyone

Access to wholesome food is a fundamental community right. For too long, urban neighborhoods have faced systemic barriers to fresh produce and clean protein sources, often leaving residents surrounded by processed options.

At Belvedere Fresh, we are dismantling those barriers from the ground up. We believe that by bringing sustainable, closed-loop agriculture directly into the community, we can bridge the gap between urban living and nutritional equity. When a neighborhood grows its own food locally, health outcomes improve, food sovereignty takes root, and neighbors are united around a shared table.

How We Grow: Closed-Loop Aquaponics

Traditional agriculture demands vast tracts of land and intensive water resources. We do things differently. Our operations harness advanced Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) and sustainable aquaponics:

• The Ecosystem: Our system pairs aquaculture (raising fish such as tilapia, trout, and catfish) with hydroponics (cultivating nutrient-rich greens like lettuce, kale, and cabbage, alongside fresh herbs) in a symbiotic, closed-loop cycle.
• Resource Efficiency: Water recycled through our fish-rearing tanks provides natural organic nutrients to our crops, reducing water consumption by up to 90% compared to traditional farming.
• Pesticide-Free Purity: Grown locally in controlled environments, our harvests require no harsh chemical pesticides or antibiotics, ensuring every harvest is as pure as nature intended.

Cultivating Community and Future Leaders

Belvedere Fresh is more than a farm; it is a community hub. Located at 1679 Columbia Drive, our site features an Outdoor Community Lounge and pilot greenhouse bays designed to bring people together.

We also believe that empowering the next generation is vital to sustaining our food systems. Through our youth-focused STEM educational initiatives—featuring our official mascots, Kenny Beans and Torrey Pease, we introduce young learners to the fascinating sciences of closed-loop ecosystems and sustainable agriculture.
